Terms of Service
These terms are written against how this service actually works, and they have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer in every market we operate in. If a clause here matters to a decision you are making, ask us and we will confirm it in writing.
These terms cover your use of GuestTale, a service for collecting photos, video and voice messages from guests at an event. They apply to the person who creates an event (the host) and to anyone who uploads to one (a guest).
What we provide
GuestTale gives a host a private link and QR code for an event. Anyone holding that link can upload photos, video and voice notes without an account, and can view the album if the host allows it.
Access is by possession of the link. We do not verify who a guest is, and a host who shares the link publicly makes the album available to anyone who finds it.
Payment and what you get
Every event starts on a free trial that is fully functional and limited only in the number of uploads and in the ability to download the album as a ZIP.
Paid plans are a single one-time payment per event. There is no subscription, nothing recurring, and nothing to cancel. What a plan buys is time: an upload window and a storage period, both measured from the event date rather than the purchase date.
- Starter — uploads for 3 months, album kept for 6 months
- Standard — uploads for 6 months, album kept for 1 year
- Pro — uploads for 1 year, album kept for 2 years
Refunds
If your event does not take place, contact us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund it in full. If you are in the EU or UK you also have a statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of purchase; by starting to use the service within that period you agree we may begin performance immediately, and you may still withdraw for a proportionate refund.
A refund returns the event to trial limits. It does not delete your album, and you can pay again to restore the window.
Storage and deletion
We delete an event's files permanently when its storage period ends. We email the host at 30 days and again at 7 days before that date, and we allow a short grace period after it. Deletion is irreversible: we cannot recover an album once it has been purged.
Download the album before the storage period ends. Extending storage at any point before deletion is a one-time payment.
Your content
You keep all rights to everything you or your guests upload. We claim no ownership and no licence to use anyone's photos for marketing or any other purpose.
We store and transmit content solely to provide the service to you: to display the album, produce web-viewable versions, assemble the ZIP, and keep backups.
What may not be uploaded
You may not upload content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, that depicts the sexual abuse or exploitation of children, or that was recorded of a person who has not consented where their consent is required.
We remove content on valid notice and may suspend or delete an event that is used to distribute illegal material. Report anything of this kind to the support address on this site and we will act promptly.
Fair use
Individual files are capped at approximately 2 GB. There is no cap on the number of guests, and guests are never counted or charged for.
The service is sized for events. If a single event's storage is wildly out of proportion with normal use — for example a professional videographer's full archive — we may contact you to agree a fair arrangement rather than delete anything.
Availability and liability
We work hard to keep the service available, particularly on event days, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service and we cannot control the network at your venue.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for the event in question. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Photographs of an event cannot be recreated. Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable; this service is a way to collect and share them, not your only backup.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects an event you have already paid for, the terms you agreed to at purchase continue to apply to that event.
These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the operating company is established, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
